I would like to share how the tuition assistance I was gifted from Arise Rwanda has positively impacted my life. Before coming to KHA, I had no hope of continuing my studies, but Arise Rwanda and generous donors have made it possible for me. This opportunity is like a dream to my family and me. I take it as a huge blessing knowing God has a great plan for us.

Today, Marie is pursuing her education in computer sciences. She wants to develop computer software that supports the farmers in Boneza, helping them to better their practices and expand international coffee markets. Hello from Boneza, Rwanda! I'm a masonry student at Kivu Hills Academy (KHA). Besides studying, I also enjoy extra-curriculum activities at school like playing volleyball, and learning about carpentry and welding. My friends and I fix chairs, windows, and doors around the school campus when they are broken. My dream is to start a welding business and workshop in Boneza.

I am a student at KHA and my choice of study is computer science. I enjoy my studies and have learned a lot about maintaining and repairing computers, security, and setting up networks.

David was the 6th born into a family of 7. At an early age, he loved taking his family's cows to graze, where he could sit and watch the green hills that covered the space around him. Growing up, David was always a happy kid - until he turned 12.

The last born of 5 children, Joyeuse became an orphan at 8 years old. Born and raised in the community neighboring Boneza, she was raised by her elder siblings who struggled to find food and attend school at the same time. Her family was known in the community to be in dire need of help. With the help of local leaders, fellow villagers were encouraged to contribute towards her family’s survival.

Upon hearing about the KHA Scholarship program, Joachum immediately contacted KHA's Principal, Jean Claude, who gave him all the information he needed to know about the program. One week later he joined KHA. Joachim’s dream is to become a conservationist because wildlife and preserving the Rwandan culture are of a great value to him.

This gift of education changed not only my life, but my family’s as well. Because of the skills I’ve learned at KHA, I am now blessed with the opportunity to both study and also work. I helped to construct the dorms on campus during one of my holidays, and I make a steady income with my masonry skills supporting construction projects around Boneza.

I'm happy to be a student at Kivu Hills Academy (KHA) and my course of study is masonry. I'm very active and like playing soccer, volleyball and swimming. My dream is to become a civil engineer and businessman.

Valentin, a KHA Masonry graduate, found himself blessed by the news that a donation made halfway around the world would change his life forever. Valentin would be going to school after all. Diving in immediately, Valentin flourished at KHA with no concern over school fees. He completed his education at Kivu Hills Academy and inspired other students to work hard and follow their passions. After graduation, he bought his own welding equipment.

Jean is a 21 year old Construction Technology student at Kivu Hills Academy. He chooses to cling to hope as his greatest asset in the world. He humbly confesses that, “I come from a poor family.” He is trying to push through his hardships to the finishing line with a hopeful spirit, believing that one day things will get better.

Patience is a 22 year old Construction Technology student at Kivu Hills Academy. She comes from a large family of nine siblings with her mother being the sole bread winner. This busy home environment has caused family hardships and greatly hinders Patience's progress at school.

Eric is a student in Senior 6 Construction at Kivu Hills Academy (KHA). He is 21 years and lives in the Rugamba Village in Boneza, Rwanda. He lives with his parents and is the 1st born of 7 children. Before joining KHA, Eric could not speak a single sentence in English. He is now in his final stretch at KHA.
